Rubinite chests: all 8 locations and contents

There are 8 chests in Rubinite, all in the Monastery, and seven of them are the only source of the Damaged Talismans Wichiwi needs to craft your build. This page lists every location, what is inside, and which talismans each one unlocks.

Why chests matter more than they look: a chest is not loot, it is a build unlock. The Damaged Talisman inside decides which 3-4 talismans Wichiwi can ever sell you, so a chest you skip is a build you cannot run.

Priority order

Chests are gated by Monastery progression, but the order you repair the talismans is a real decision. Ranked by what each pool gives you:

  1. Storage Room (Blue) — Keen Gaze and True Hunter. The best pool in the game: one speeds up Mark generation, the other turns Marks into damage.
  2. Hallway (White) — Pensive Eyes, and Bloodsucker for long fights.
  3. Library (Yellow) — Mark Meister changes how Strikes work entirely.
  4. Bedroom (Red) — True Swordfighter for pure Slash damage; Pocket Bombs for Perfect Dodge builds.
  5. Courtyard (Green) — Killer Instinct if you can hit the white arc; Scorched Trail for burst windows.
  6. Dining Hall (Orange) — Bracelet of Blessing is the useful one (poison/burn/smoke).
  7. Office (Purple) — Bloodwings and True Ranger, both niche.

Real World changes

After you break out of the illusion, the chests still exist but their contents change: instead of a Damaged Talisman each one gives a pigment that swaps Ruby's colour palette. The Main Hall chest still pays Blood Dust. An extra pigment, Turquoise, is sold by Wichiwi for 9,999 Blood Dust.

Frequently asked

How many chests are there?

8, all in the Monastery. Seven hold Damaged Talismans; the Main Hall chest holds 500 Blood Dust.

Do chests respawn?

No — once per save. In the Real World the same chests give pigments instead.

Which chest first?

Storage Room (Blue) for Keen Gaze, then Hallway (White) for Pensive Eyes. Those two talismans carry the whole early game.
